In 1954, Sri Anumula Babu Rao was born in Laggam Village, near Adilabad Dist. He hailed from a poor family and matriculated (on scholarship) from Chandrapur in 1970.
Owing to poverty, he had to stop his education and come to Hyderabad in 1971. After doing menial jobs for few years he joined Niloufer in 1975 as a table cleaner. In due course of time he got promoted as a supervisor and signed contract with the owner to run the hotel in 1978. In his supervision, the Hotel grew leaps and bounds. In 1991 he made enough profits to purchase the property itself.
The Cafe Niloufer catered to the mass audience for decades and became renowned name in Hyderabad for Irani/Hyderabadi Chai and Osmania biscuits. Nevertheless, it was time to change and take it to the next level. That’s when his Son, Mr. Anumula Shashank (BE. MBA) took the reigns in his hands. He wanted to cater to the upper middle class and create a delightful experience for their customers while they indulge in sipping a refreshing cup of authentic Hyderabadi tea. He completed his MBA from a premium B School and started assisting his father in 2011. It took him couple of years to understand and blend into the business. In 2016, with the help of friends and well-wishers, he launched a new outlet in Redhills with a separate dining section for family members. The new outlet had an extended menu with wide range of delicacies to choose from.
On October 25, 2019, we launched our state-of-the art premium lounge for the affluent, at Road # 12 Banjara Hills. The new outlet has an array of special and heritage teas. The one worth mentioning is the Niloufer exotic tea, known as the Maijan Golden tips, it is a specially hand-plucked second flush produce representing premium white tea at its finest. And what’s even more interesting is its price, a single cup will cost you a whopping INR 999. But it’s sure to give you a once in a lifetime experience. We also offer a range of other variants of teas and a plethora of International delicacies like focaccia, ciabatta, Neapolitan pizza, American cookies, Russian Salads, Thai rice bowls, Italian Sandwiches and so on.
